Fuji Track as the name suggests is at home on the Velodrome however the urban aesthetics and competitive pricing have seen the Track becoming a fast contender on the streets. The Fuji Tracks reputation as an excellent introduction track bike has filtered down to the mass market of cyclists looking for an indestructible commuter ride or fixie’s looking for a blank canvass.

Hey Good Looking

Starting with the aesthetics the Fuji 2010 Track is slick. The frames paint job is coated in a good quality thick layer of gloss Black or Pearl White. Accessorized with gloss black components and classic located black Fuji graphic decals giving a very Black stealth or Pure White look.

The frame

Classic 700C track geometry with a short wheelbase means input is directly converted to output producing a very responsive and snappy ride. A high bottom bracket allows for more aggressive cornering. Fuji’s 50 years experience in double butted Chromoly frame production is partnered with a triple butted fork. Off the shelf the bike comes with out brakes but the frame is drilled allowing for the addition for street riding. Available in a number of sizes four 49,52,54,56,58,61

Componentry

Considering the price the Fuji Track has a number of quality manufactures. The 2010 model has an improved specification including Jalco DRX 2000 Double Wall Rims, FSA cranks and Ritchey headset.

The Ride

The simplicity of the track frame means the Fuji is pretty light. The combination of the 46 tooth FSA Track Forged Alloy chainset supported by a rear 15 tooth sprocket on a Formula Alloy Track flip/flop hub makes the gear ratio more commuter friendly than the 2009 model perfect for the city commute. The flip/flop hub allows the option for a gentle introduction into riding single speed or to get straight into riding fixed. The Fuji drop bars are surprisingly comfortable along with the general set up of classic 700C geometry.

The Wheelset consists of 32H Formula Alloy Track hubs, laced to Jalco DRX 2000 Double Wall Rims coated in Kenda 28C tyres. A durable and reliable wheelset that should resist any best efforts from sizeable potholes to untrue on regular commutes.

The 2010 Fuji Track is loads of fun to ride, extremely responsive it will take just about anything you can throw at it, carving up through traffic on repetitive rides. Solid and dependable with great componetry the Fuji Track is a fantastic buy and deserves the place it has earned in the market of single speeds.
